Essentially, you’ll find everything you need here. If not, it may be an item you need to bring from home. From Tarcoles to Jaco, a variety of shopping centers cater to different needs, offering souvenirs, hardware, electronics, furniture, and of course, clothing. Should you still need to find what you’re looking for, the city of Santa Ana/Escazu is just a 60-minute drive away.

It’s prudent to be aware of the nearest medical facilities when you’re on vacation or deciding to move to another country. Fortunately, Jaco and Herradura host several public and private clinics staffed with competent physicians. English-speaking clinics are readily available in Los Sueños, just beyond the entrance, and in Jaco at locations such as Clinica ALMA and MMI. For more critical needs, the exceptional CIMA Hospital in Escazu is a mere 60-minute drive or a swift 20-minute helicopter ride away.
